Lapeer Dragway – Celebrating their 50th year, the dragway offers 1/8, 1/4 mile test & tune, bracket racing and a whole bundle of fun for the family! If you have a car you’d like to run, there are winner prizes to boot. You can also just show up and watch the cars run down the track. The dragway closes at the end of November for the winter season.
Polar Palace – This state of the art facility has two NHL sized rinks, seats 1,000 people and also includes a pro-shop, arcade and snack bar, along with a Sports Tavern attached, called Louie’s. The palace has a lot to offer, but if you are just visiting, open skating would be a great place to begin. Once you are all skated out, you can try the Mezz or the restaurant.
5. Visit a Working Farm
Fick Farms has been serving the Lapeer area for nearly one-hundred years. One of the areas only working farms that is open to the public. They have a variety of family-fun activities, pick your own items (flowers, pumpkins) and a Farmer’s Market. Some of the produce is their own, but they also provide from other local and Amish farmers. Come on out and experience what a real farm does and take in some of the activites and try out the food and drinks. Nothing like fresh donuts and cider.
